Managed to get back to Ann Arbor in one piece and more than an hour early. Walked right into the food festival - which meant that lunch was a mixed bag of cucumber soups, salmon mousses and chocoolate covered strawberrys paid for with vouchers and chosen by length of wait rather than general appeal.
Weirdly being back felt fantastic. After the grayness and sticker shock of London it was good to be out in brilliant sunshine amongst people who seemed relaxed and happy. There was none of the tension of Cyprus either -- at least of Nicosia with the dividing line, the guns, the soldiers and the maps that show only half of the city labelling the other half 'occupied territory'/
The pic by the way is the daughter of the people in Turkish Nicosia who took us in, made us coffee and explained a little of what it's like to return from exile to a place. All very weird.
Not the greatest post this, I apologize. They'll get better. Just that mornings are busier with Jude in London.
