McCain does the decent thing

McCain was booed by his own supporters today when he described the Barack Obamat as a "decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared of."

The boo's became even madder with shouts of at "traitor," "terrorist," "treason," "liar," and even "off with his head"

"If you want a fight, we will fight," McCain said. "But we will be respectful. I admire Sen. Obama and his accomplishments."

Again they boo'd

"I don't mean that has to reduce your ferocity," he said. "I just mean to say you have to be respectful."

Here's a typical exchange

"I don't trust Obama," a woman said. "I have read about him. He's an Arab."

McCain shook his head and replied:

"No, ma'am. He's a decent, family man, a citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with (him) on fundamental issues and that's what this campaign is all about."

Perhaps the old stoat does have a sense of honor left - even if his #1 objective is to get the Whitehouse moved to Boca Raton

You know, McCain was a decent man before he hired Mrs Goebbels as number 2. I wonder if a man that near the grave might be quite a fun president.

There were signs that George was a lot more interesting than those that were financing and pulling his strings in the early days. Going to Israel and calling for a Palastinian state for example, Clinton never had the balls for that.

Maybe once he's in, despite the insane brigade that got him there, he might just think fuck it, and do something great. I mean Reagan in his dotage was ready and willing to go for complete nucleur disarmament with Gorby till the Pentagon and Thatcher stopped him. (Presumably by explaining there was this new place called China...)

Maybe he'll clear the US national debt by selling Alaska to the Chinese on the condition they take Palin as a job-lot

McCain must really hate his voter base. I mean REALLY hate them. Wouldn't it be a hoot if he won and had them all imprisoned?
