The End... for now

The numbers are falling off. The people still watching are bored. And I'm too happy to be interesting.

It seems that my doctor was right. I am now officially boring.

So until the results come back bad signalling relapse and a proximity to death that gives this the edge that it is missing right now I'll wind this down and bore you no more.

I guess that this really is the perfect outcome. No drama. No high stakes. No will he / won't he? Just a return to everyday life... but an everyday life that's happier, healthier and less stressed than before I started writing.

Jude away

Jude's away again - this time on a conference in Boston - and I'm settling in to a new life of dieting, exercising, television and working from home (or the park) as often as possible. It's actually all rather civilized, though in truth it's just a little too civilized.

I have scans on Friday (fingers crossed) and Jude home for the weekend. So not much news here. What a dull blog entry.

Another day in paradise

New York in the sunshine really is glorious. Yes it's ugly, the roads are scarred, the buildings have no discernable front and the people stay pale until about late August but there's just something about this place that's magical.

I think that the key is possibility. At any time I can go out and do anything. The fact that I don't is irrelevant. It's all out there. And there are people out there too.

It's interesting (to me anyway) that in NYC I take pictures of interesting faces and people and elsewhere I take pictures of impressive buildings and scenery. Maybe it's just proximity that I love. But there's a buzz. And it's a human buzz.

Oh dear - I'm turning a tad Arthur Askey.

Blue skies and shaggy dogs

It's getting to the time where we have to shave Velcro down for the summer. With the temps outside getting close to 30C and inside close to 24C she's starting to struggle a little... though the rest of the week should see things cooling down and her a little happier in her fur.

Spent today writing concepts for one project and ideas for another - mainly from home as the idea of being in the office with the heat, the noise and the distraction was just too much. I'd love to take a full month off this summer and was thinking that I might do exactly that. Two weeks in Africa followed by two weeks in the park and helping Jude look for an Ann Arbor place.

Tomorrow looks like being a long one so to bed with me now and we'll see what the morning brings

A quiet day

After a party at a house uptown last night Jude slept in today while I caught up with some work. We have a couple of good ideas on the table that I don't want to see lost in translation so it's worth an early morning start to figure out exactly what we should be saying.

The rest of the day was spent in a lazy, sunny (27C!) haze - baseball in the park, brunch, a movie with a friend, sushi and tonight The Tudors... rather a special Showtime mini series showing Henry VIII as an attractive young man of voracious appetites.

Must phone the hospital tomorrow as they have clearance for scans and need me to name a date and time. That shouldn't be too difficult.

Jude is away all of next week (school, a conference in Boston) and I'm determined that her absence will mean more time in the gym, less time eating out and more time working rather than more TV, takeaways and late nights that turn into mammoth non-sleeping stints.

A real post soon, we promise
